Xiaomi debuted the Mi 5 earlier this year, and it’s already ready to refresh the device with an “S” variant. There isn’t a lot of information yet, but here’s everything we know so far about the Xiaomi Mi 5S.

The leak shows the Mi 5S will have a 5.15-inch display, a Snapdragon 821 processor, Adreno 530 GPU, and 6GB of RAM. There will be a storage space capacity of 256GB. The rear camera will have 16 megapixels with optical image stabilization, and the device will stay on for a while thanks to a 3,490mAh battery.
It will also have a USB Type-C port with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0, Bluetooth 4.2, and NFC.
It’s looking to be quite a powerhouse if these specs are true. Not a lot of devices have the Snapdragon 821 yet — Google’s upcoming Pixel smartphones are expected to be the first with them stateside.

Rumors about a curved display with support for 3D Touch have also circulated for quite a few months, thanks to GizmoChina. The feature is mentioned again in the latest leak. GizmoChina said the Mi 5S should have come out in August and that didn’t happen, so don’t take this information as fact.
Release date and price
It’s unlikely the Xiaomi Mi 5S will ever come to the U.S., but availability and price haven’t been announced yet. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
